Planche gravée représentant le grenadier : feuille, fleur et fruit

From the garden of Eden to the garden of the Resurrection, passing through the garden of the Song of Songs or Gethsemane, the readers of the Bible in its Traditions will soon be able to admire tens of biblical flowers and trees, thanks to the botanical and symbolic notes that Sister Marie Reine is planting on the platform of the BEST and in Bible Art .

Do you wonder what the mandrake that Rachel coveted looks like? Would you like to know where the nard that Mary of Bethany sprinkled on Jesus’ head came from? Would you like to know the flavor of the fruits tasted by the beloved of the Song? These botanical notes will answer!

Based on the research of (archaeo)botanists, exegetical commentaries, the history of biblical translations and the “natural history” of the Ancients, 111 plants from the Bible have been identified and commented on. Their name, origin, description, use and symbolism will soon hold no secrets for you.
