Congratulations to François Friche for the “Prix XVIIe siècle”, Saturday 29 September at 3pm at the Sorbonne (Teachers’ Club)

We are delighted to hear this news about a former member of our Jerusalem Office.

Since 1984, the Société d’Etude du XVIIe siècle has awarded an annual XVIIe siècle Prize of 2,000 euros. The aim of the Prize is to encourage the dissemination of rigorous knowledge to the widest possible audience. It is awarded for a work on the seventeenth century published in the previous year, irrespective of discipline.

The jury is made up of : Jean-Robert Armogathe, Carine Barbafieri, Delphine Reguig, Silvio de Franceschi, Frédéric Charbonneau, Marianne Cojannot-Leblanc, Pierre Pasquier, Alain Génetiot, Mickael Szanto, Martine Pécharman, Caroline Le Mao, Giuliano Feretti, Guillaume Hanotin, Richard Scholar, Jean-Yves Vialleton.


The 2017 prize was awarded to François Friche for his book Entre Terre et Ciel. Romans comiques et mystère de l’Incarnation (1620-1660), Paris, Hermann, 2017.
